Backpack 소개
Backpack is a licensed crypto exchange and wallet operator offering retail and institutional users spot, derivatives and tokenized-equity trading, with a self-custodial Solana wallet holding assets. It addresses traditional brokers' trading-hour limits and the long settlement of tokenized assets, separating on-chain orders from custody architecture and matching trades through an order book, while tokenized equities are backed 1:1 by a licensed entity as redeemable instruments.
The trade-off is exchanging compliance licensing and product integration for mainstream reach, at the cost of regulatory and counterparty concentration from custody and securities operations. Running spot, derivatives and tokenized equities on one platform also amplifies risk-control and cross-jurisdiction compliance complexity. Backpack listed on the Nasdaq in June 2026, becoming one of the few crypto exchanges to go public under its own operating entity.

On March 23, 2026 the BP token completed its generation event on Solana with a 1 billion supply, 25% distributed by airdrop to points participants and Mad Lads holders and no insider allocation at launch; 37.5% unlocks against operating milestones and 37.5% stays in the treasury until a year after a potential IPO. Users who stake BP for at least a year can convert tokens into up to 20% of the company's equity in a qualifying exit.
In June it launched Backpack Securities, giving eligible users US equities with genuine securities entitlements that can be moved as tokenized securities onto Solana and redeemed back through the brokerage, with CEO Armani Ferrante planning to grow the list from about 200 to 10,000 symbols; equity perpetuals on Nvidia and Apple followed. The moat is not matching speed but the door between Solana settlement and US equity clearing that only licensed entities can open. BP captures value from trading and settlement volume itself, with no protocol-level fee switch; a year of staking convertible into equity turns holders into IPO shareholders and ties the token's value to listing expectations. MiFID II in Cyprus and the US brokerage licence carry the compliance cost in each market, so expansion is paced by licences rather than products.

Backpack holds a Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) VASP licence, a Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) MiFID II licence, Japan Virtual Currency Exchange Association Type-2 membership and a Latvian crypto-asset service provider (CASP) licence under the EU MiCA framework.
