BitcoinOS 소개
BitcoinOS is a programmable platform that treats Bitcoin as its settlement layer, aiming to add smart contract capability without changing Bitcoin's consensus. It submits proofs of computation to the Bitcoin mainnet through a zero-knowledge verification mechanism, with mainnet script rules constraining verification, enabling contracts, programmable tokens and trust-minimized bridges without a fork. It addresses Bitcoin's role as a store of value with no native programmability.
Unlike sidechains and wrapped-asset schemes it does not rely on a separate validator set for security, returning final arbitration to Bitcoin, at the cost of proof generation and mainnet blockspace becoming bottlenecks and contract interaction costing more than on general chains. The project has completed an initial zero-knowledge proof verification on mainnet, its token trades on several venues with about 10.16 billion circulating at the end of September 2026, the price sits in a very low range and ecosystem applications remain few.
Mechanics and burns: BOS runs a buy-and-burn model in which BTC-denominated compute and proof fees are used to purchase and destroy BOS on the market. SLAM nodes must stake BOS as service-level collateral, and slashed amounts are split between burns and rewards for monitoring nodes. The team says the initial use case targets institutional Bitcoin, with close to $1 billion of BTC TVL subscribed.
Supply and price: Total supply is 21 billion with about 10.17 billion circulating, a 48% circulation ratio, and roughly 7,120 holders. BOS trades on Kraken, Gate, MEXC, Binance Alpha and Bitget, and the Cardano native token airdrop distribution has started. It set an all-time low on September 4, down more than 99% from its October 29, 2025 peak.
