Meru 소개
Meru is a stablecoin account app for freelancers, remote workers and small businesses in Latin America, operated by a US-registered company. Users fund through US clearing, European account numbers, local transfers, USDC or USDT, hold a dollar-denominated balance, spend through Visa virtual and physical cards, pay local merchants by QR and cash out through partners.
The base layer is a self-custodial USDC wallet on Stellar, with optional yield routed through the Blend lending pools, while fiat and card functions sit with licensed partners. It is treated as a working example of a stablecoin payroll account, with Bolivia, Peru, Mexico and Colombia as main markets. Verifiable progress includes Bolivia becoming one of its largest markets after expansion in the first half of 2026, and a June 2026 report from its card partner Rain citing Meru as a leading case for local QR spend and cross-border card payments.
Meru charges a 1% crypto deposit fee plus a fixed amount per network, such as 1% + 1 USD on Stellar and Polygon and 1% + 10 USDC on Ethereum.
Meru's physical card charges foreign-currency fees by region: 1% for USD spending outside the US, 1.2% for other currencies outside the US, and 0% for USD spending inside the US.
