Open Forest Protocol 소개

Open Forest Protocol launched NatureGrid in early June 2026, merging ground-collected data with remote sensing layers (aboveground biomass, forest carbon, land cover, biodiversity intactness, soil water content) into a single monitoring workflow. Datasets come from providers including Planet, Chloris Geospatial, Sylvera and Kanop plus public sources such as JRC and UMD, at resolutions down to 3.5 metres and update frequencies from sub-weekly to annual, with a 14-day free trial.
The same month Open Forest Protocol's equity crowdfunding campaign on Republic Europe hit 100% of target and moved into overfunding. Proceeds are earmarked for entering the biodiversity and mangrove verticals, scaling from 300-plus to more than 1,000 projects, and expanding into Brazil, Ghana, Colombia and Kenya; at the time of disclosure OFP had onboarded over 300 projects in more than 30 countries, covering 34,000-plus hectares.
Open Forest Protocol plans to run NatureGrid in parallel with the OFP carbon standard and registry infrastructure: letting projects outside the OFP standard buy remote sensing layers and produce audit-ready reports, while widening the ground verification network and regional leads so monitoring data maps directly onto the disclosure requirements of funders, carbon standard bodies and regulators.
