Wicrypt 소개
Wicrypt is a decentralised physical infrastructure network that turns idle internet bandwidth into a rentable resource. Participants buy a hotspot device such as the Lynx or the Spider, connect it to their own broadband line, set a price per gigabyte and open it to nearby users, who connect through an app and pay for usage while the owner earns tokens for the data actually served. The devices run custom WicryptOS firmware that encrypts traffic, meters usage and bills in real time.
The hardware comes in tiers: the Lynx is a battery-powered portable unit with roughly 100 metres of coverage and support for dozens of concurrent users; the Spider targets small businesses with multiple LAN ports and an omnidirectional antenna; a higher tier serves enterprise settings with hundreds of concurrent connections. Dual SIM support lets a device fall back to cellular if the main line drops. The network has two layers, dispersed hotspot hubs underneath and connecting client devices above, and the token moved from Polygon to Arbitrum One in December 2024 to cut the cost of micropayments.
The same month it completed a restructuring that replaced the token-reward retail model with subscription software: router owners pay recurring fees for the management platform and earn from internet access fees paid by connected users rather than from token distribution, with WNT kept as an optional incentive. As of January 2026 Wicrypt had deployed more than 2,000 routers across Africa and markets including China, serving individuals, small businesses, campuses, estates and mid-tier schools.
WNT's market capitalization was about $274,000 with roughly 48 million tokens circulating and daily volume near $150,000, while weekly rewards continued.
Wicrypt is expanding router deployment through subscriptions and cheaper hardware, pushing into Southeast Asia and Latin America, and basing revenue on real access payments rather than token prices.
