MEXC is a centralized exchange that competes on ultra-low fees and fast listings, serving global retail and professional traders with spot, derivatives and wealth products. It tackles the pain of long listing cycles and narrow asset coverage on traditional CEXes by adding 130 to 160 new trading pairs per month and supporting high-throughput trading through a matching engine and Order Book mechanism. Its spot market share is about 7.9 percent, ranking second globally, yet its offshore structure leaves compliance maturity lagging its asset breadth.
On June 1, 2026, MEXC launched RealStocks, a product covering more than 7,000 real US stocks and ETFs, extending tradable assets from crypto into traditional securities. On July 14, 2026, MEXC published its Q2 ecosystem and growth report: after SpaceX completed its IPO on June 12, trading volume for SpaceX perpetual contracts on the platform exceeded 7.1 billion USDT within weeks; the real US stock and ETF product RealStocks launched on June 1, covering over 7,000 instruments with more than 120,000 registered users in its first month; the quarter also saw a brand upgrade and the appointment of Vugar Usi as CEO.
On the token side, MEXC had already achieved its target of keeping circulating supply under 100 million in December 2025, after which team token releases were suspended and burns became market-responsive; the January 15, 2026 announcement reported 2.182 million MX burned in Q4 2025 with circulating supply of about 91.84 million, a framework maintained throughout the reporting period.
In September 2026 MEXC reported $407 billion in total volume, 178 new listings generating $551 million, zero-fee trading across 1,575 pairs saving users $110 million, and TradFi coverage beyond 10,000 assets. August volume was $466 billion and May $641 billion, with more than 40 million users across 170-plus markets; September proof-of-reserves, audited by Hacken, showed 119% for USDT, 111% for USDC, 297% for BTC and 111% for ETH. A July 29 report with CoinGecko said TradFi volume across six major exchanges grew from $3.46 billion in January 2025 to $393.15 billion in June 2026, with MEXC's monthly TradFi volume rising from $1.54 billion to $91.12 billion and two straight months as the top precious-metals venue.
MEXC buys traffic with zero fees and monetises through asset breadth: spot, stock futures, tokenised equities and RealStocks share one account, with the zero-fee promise confined to execution while revenue comes from funding, listings and wealth products. That model is hard to copy because it needs 40 million users to absorb the cost and a supply side of more than 7,000 US stocks and ETFs plus 200-plus stock and index futures. The real rival is not another crypto exchange but Coinbase, which is folding equities and prediction markets into one entry point; MEXC's edge is zero fees and listing speed, its weakness the licensing footprint and brand trust institutional money requires.
