BounceBit 소개
BounceBit is a Bitcoin restaking and CeDeFi infrastructure using dual-token proof-of-stake for BTC and BB, mapping off-exchange BTC into BBTC via Ceffu custody and linking custody, settlement and on-chain yield. BBTC minting and redemption are controlled by Ceffu's MPC threshold signatures, requiring dual confirmation from the custodian and on-chain proof; its CeDeFi architecture spans multi-chain assets and institutional liquidity management and integrates RWA products like Franklin Templeton's BENJI and BlackRock's BUIDL, while V3 adds yield-bearing BB tokens, perpetual futures and cross-chain vaults to differentiate a custodied Bitcoin yield layer from pure DeFi lending.
In August 2026 an authorization flaw let an attacker take about 286.5 million BB, and the team permanently shut down BounceBit Chain and reissued BB on BNB Chain from the snapshot. The pivot to CeDeFi and RWA on BNB Chain leaves trust repair and institutional adoption as the main constraint after the incident.

Between August 19 and 20, 2026, an attacker exploited an authorization flaw in the Evmos-based stack to move about 286.5 million BB (roughly $3 million) from nine accounts; on August 21 the team announced the permanent shutdown of BounceBit Chain and a 1:1 reissuance of BB as BEP-20 on BNB Chain based on the pre-exploit snapshot, excluding stolen tokens.
The migration completed on September 3, 2026, with Binance, KuCoin and others restoring deposits, withdrawals and trading in early September. As of September 18, platform AUM stood at about $289 million, with the business pivoting to CeDeFi and RWA products on BNB Chain (BB Prime, BB Credit); BB staking is planned to return in Q4 2026.
On August 20, 2026 BounceBit Chain halted block production after a protocol-level authorization flaw let an attacker move 286.5 million BB, while CeDeFi apps, contracts and vaults were unaffected; rather than patch the chain, the team permanently shut its L1 after the August 23 upgrade, reissued BB as a BEP-20 on BNB Chain from a pre-exploit snapshot, effectively burned the stolen tokens and restored user balances.
Future strategy and roadmap: Under the reset roadmap, BB staking reopens on BNB Chain in the fourth quarter of 2026, with staked balances determining allocations and allowlisting for the Promo, Strategy and RWA vaults; BB Credit relaunches right after, accepting a single collateral asset under a protocol-wide borrow cap and holding collateral with a regulated custodian. In the first quarter of 2027 collateral expands to Franklin Templeton's BENJI and BlackRock's BUIDL, with institutional borrowers accessing KYC'd vaults on BounceBit Prime; a perpetual futures exchange follows in the second quarter, where staked BB sets fee tiers and can be committed to an insurance fund.
