Irys 소개
Irys is a layer-1 network that puts storage and execution on the same chain, descended from Bundlr, once Arweave's main upload layer. Data lands in a Submit Ledger where storage miners issue ingress proofs of receipt and custody, then moves to a Publish Ledger once promotion conditions are met and its Merkle root becomes part of network state. From then on random sampling, partitioned replicas and Useful Proof of Work keep checking it, with slashing for failures. Execution runs on the EVM-compatible IrysVM, so a contract can read committed bytes on the same chain.
Pricing separates the two: permanent storage is a one-off fee into a storage endowment, term storage is charged per epoch, execution per gas, all settled in IRYS so an application does not pay a bridge cost to read its own data. Clients are AI, DePIN and NFT projects that need verifiable retention and on-chain use, and the difference from Filecoin or Arweave is putting compute beside storage rather than in a separate layer. Hard forks Aurora and Borealis in June 2026 and Protocol 28 in September fixed commitment-transaction encoding and unified miner reward addresses.
