Kite AI is a Layer 1 built for AI agents, supplying identity, payment and permission infrastructure for software that acts on its own. An on-chain account binds an agent's identity to policy constraints through Agent Passport, every payment an agent initiates passes a programmable permission check, and settlement uses protocols such as x402 and Google AP2, letting agents pay for models, data and APIs within set limits without human approval. Consensus runs on a proof-of-stake validator set, execution is EVM-compatible, and providers are settled by call volume, closing a machine-to-machine payment loop instead of routing each micropayment back to a person.
A single call shows it: the agent confirms identity and budget in Agent Passport, issues payment in x402 or AP2, the contract checks allowance and allowlist, and the provider returns the result as settlement lands, with volume invoiced by period.
