Shardeum 소개
Shardeum is an EVM-compatible sharded Layer 1 advanced by an India-based team since 2022, with its mainnet named Golden Gate. Its core is dynamic state sharding with autoscaling: the network measures load in 60-second cycles and adds or removes shards accordingly, each shard holding 128 nodes that reach consensus on transactions themselves, with first-come-first-served ordering and block production decoupled from consensus so archive nodes can batch-store results. Consensus uses Proof of Quorum, where more than half the nodes in a shard confirm a transaction, with Proof of Stake as sybil defence, slashing for misbehaviour and low hardware requirements for validators.
As of August 2026 delegated staking yielded roughly 33% annualised and validator rewards moved to a fixed issuance curve, while all transaction fees are burned along with slashed stake. Mainnet upgrades require a coordinated halt at a set block height, with exchanges and bridges pausing deposits and withdrawals to match.

Shardeum's mainnet went live in November 2025, with 2026 focused on ecosystem expansion and decentralization.
