Acquisition: Bluewater said on June 26 it had completed its purchase of Sui lending protocol Suilend, including STEAMM and SpringSui, which keeps operating under its own brand and infrastructure; SEND was excluded from the deal and will be distributed to holders by the original team as the project winds down, with terms not yet published.
Supply and value: Of the 100 million total supply about 75.54 million SEND is unlocked; the buyer assumes no token operations or buybacks, severing governance and value capture, so exit expectations and sell pressure coexist until the distribution plan lands.
On June 26, 2026 Bluewater announced it had completed the acquisition of Sui lending protocol Suilend, covering the protocol itself plus STEAMM and SpringSui, with the SEND token explicitly excluded. Suilend keeps its brand, product roadmap and infrastructure and will run as an independent platform; Bluefin founder Zabi became CEO, with plans to bring in institutional capital, add RWA integration and deepen liquidity and retail lending to make it the capital centre on Sui.
SEND is being handled separately by the original team and distributed to holders as the project winds down, with details still unpublished. Control and token rights are now split: the protocol continues with long-term funding, while SEND loses its governance and value-capture path; several auditors are involved in the transition and users need take no action. The purchase price, valuation and payment method were not disclosed, nor whether SEND governance will be redesigned, leaving the market questions about separating control from token rights.
Suilend's integration proceeds in stages, first connecting trading, lending, collateral, liquidity and yield products, then routing Bluefin's trading flow into the lending side while the two brands and legal entities stay separate.
