Avalanche 소개
Avalanche is a Layer 1 public chain aimed at high-performance applications and institutional scenarios, using a multi-chain design: the EVM-compatible C-Chain handles execution while purpose-built Subnets let enterprises or communities customize consensus, permissions and gas rules so one network can host very different apps. Its Snowman consensus delivers sub-second finality for high throughput, and the validator set secures bridged assets through cross-chain light-block verification, balancing speed with configurability. Subnets share the validator set but run independently, letting institutions customize fee structures and participation thresholds in isolated environments without bearing the public chain's global congestion.
In September 2026, Avalanche activated the Helicon upgrade, separating C-Chain execution from consensus, cutting the minimum validator staking period from two weeks to 48 hours, and introducing an adjustable minimum gas price. The trade-off is that annual staking issuance still far exceeds burns, so value capture has not converged with inflation, and subnet and ecosystem governance stays relatively concentrated.

On June 1, 2026, CME Group introduced 24/7 AVAX futures. On July 13, Progmat, Japan's largest security token platform, migrated about ¥452 billion (roughly $2.7 billion) of tokenized securities to a dedicated Avalanche L1. On July 15, Aave V4 launched on Avalanche, targeting institutional RWA lending such as tokenized US Treasuries.
On September 22 the Helicon upgrade activated on mainnet via AvalancheGo v1.15.0, bundling six ACPs: the minimum staking period fell from 14 days to 48 hours with auto-renewing compounding cycles, the uptime threshold for validator rewards rose from 80% to 90%, Continuous Execution decoupled C-Chain transaction processing from consensus, and the minimum gas price became dynamic via validator vote. In February Fosun Wealth issued the yield-bearing RWA stablecoin FUSD onchain; on July 11 Ava Labs partnered with NEC on blockchain digital identity; on August 30 Charles Schwab said it plans to offer native AVAX trading to 39 million client accounts.
Avalanche's Future strategy and roadmap: Avalanche has shifted from selling subnets to winning institutional settlement: by mid-October the network hosted 1,255 tokenised RWAs worth more than $13 billion, including roughly $484 million in BlackRock's BUIDL, and Charles Schwab's October 21 research cited that footprint in naming it a leader in RWAs and institutional use, with AVAX trading due to reach its 39 million brokerage accounts by year-end. Helicon cut the minimum staking period to 48 hours with auto-compounding on September 22, at the cost of lowering the annualised reward rate from about 5.4% to 4% - trading validator yield for the duration flexibility institutional capital needs. Against Ethereum and Solana for the same issuers, its edge is compliance-tailored sovereign L1s rather than general ecosystem scale.
