Casper 소개
Casper is a Layer 1 aimed at real-world assets and the machine economy, with ZUG consensus, an execution layer supporting both WASM and EVM, contracts that upgrade in place, and native access control plus fee delegation, so institutions can register assets on chain and define who may read or transfer them without rebuilding existing systems. It targets the compliance and engineering friction of tokenising securities, where general-purpose chains lack granular permissions and upgrading a contract often means migrating addresses and balances.
Rather than competing on throughput alone, Casper builds predictable fees and governance into the design so enterprise users can estimate long-term cost. Mainnet upgraded to 2.2.0 on 23 March 2026, a dollar-pegged stablecoin design called csprUSD was announced in July, and August brought partnerships with AmericanFortress and a payments platform aimed at plugging payments and tokenisation into existing businesses. Ecosystem scale is where it trails: developer and dApp activity has long trailed mainstream chains, and on-chain assets are dominated by stablecoins and tokenized funds.

Issuance and unlocks: Casper's 2.2.0 upgrade on March 23 minted a one-off 4.76 billion CSPR, 33% of supply at the time, released quarterly through March 2028, with tranches of about 433 million on June 23 and again in late September; annual inflation stays at 8%, split 6% to validators and delegators and 2% to ecosystem operations.
Progress: mainnet patch 2.2.2 shipped June 30, Kraken opened CSPR to US trading on July 22, and the team released an x402 machine-payments facilitator with Go and TypeScript tooling; market cap briefly fell below $50 million.
On March 23, 2026, the Casper mainnet upgraded to version 2.2.0, enacting two governance proposals with about 92% and 89% of voting stake: CVV006 introduced a minimum delegation rate mechanism, and CVV008 issued 4,763,091,158 CSPR at once, equal to 33% of total supply, released quarterly over two years. At the end of June the network completed a further mainnet upgrade to version 2.2.2.
Casper's Future strategy and roadmap: the focus shifts from protocol building to ecosystem execution, with validators holding quarterly meetings to review performance and set priorities, the first in the third week of June; the treasury's initial roughly 250 million CSPR provides market-making liquidity with the remainder staked under the treasury delegation policy and disclosed regularly; the team will also widen exchange and ecosystem integrations, improve liquidity and entry channels for users and capital, and push the network from infrastructure readiness into adoption and growth.
