GSR is a digital-asset trading and liquidity provider with over a decade of history, offering algorithmic market making, OTC trading and liquidity to exchanges, token issuers and institutions. On March 17, 2026, GSR acquired token advisory firms Autonomous and Architech for $57 million to build a capital markets and treasury business; on March 12 it completed the first confidential OTC trade on Ethereum with Zama. In May, SC Ventures, Standard Chartered's venture arm, took a stake at a valuation above $1 billion, the firm's first outside investment since its 2013 founding. On June 9 it received FINRA approval to complete the acquisition of Portland broker-dealer Equilibrium Capital Services, renamed GSR Securities. In July it joined TP ICAP's Fusion Digital Assets, providing two-way bitcoin and ether liquidity under the matched principal model.
Future strategy and roadmap: GSR is converting spread income into regulated fee income: after FINRA approval on June 9, GSR Securities holds an SEC-registered broker-dealer that can underwrite and distribute tokenized securities and run market making, structured products and OTC settlement on one platform. BESO charges 1%, rebalances weekly and credits ETH and SOL staking yield to NAV, using active strategy against passive spot ETFs charging 0.19%–0.25%; ties to SC Ventures and Libeara bring bank distribution and a tokenization rail, shifting revenue from inventory risk toward service fees. BESO in April and the licence in June together form a loop from market making to underwriting and distribution.
